Hebrews 11: The Reality Requirement

Hebrews 11:6 is the basic rule for anyone who wants to actually get something done. It’s the "Technical Floor" for building a community. If you don't start with the Physical Real, you're just wasting your time on "Ghost-Stories."

1. Believing "That He Is"

The verse says: "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is..."

• God is Real: To believe "that He Is" isn't a religious feeling. It’s the technical recognition that Objective Reality exists. It means that the laws of the world—like gravity, the strength of a weld, or the consequences of a lie—are real things that you have to deal with.
• The Logic of the Flesh: You can't pray away a bad foundation or a broken pipe. You have to believe that the world has rules, and you have to work within those rules. If you're stuck in a "theory" while your neighborhood is starving, you've failed the reality requirement.

2. The Rewarder: Real Results

The verse continues: "...and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

• Survival as the Prize: In the real world, the "Reward" for working with the truth is Survival. If you build a high-trust neighborhood where people look out for each other, you get the real-world result of a community that stays alive when the big systems fail.
• Seeking the Real: "Diligently seeking him" means looking for the Truth in every situation. It’s about doing the audit, checking the receipts, and making sure the work is actually getting done.

3. Summary

To be a Materialist Christian is to have a "Yes that means Yes." We don't hide in abstract ideas. We work with the Real World that God built, and we take responsibility for the results. That's the only way to please the "God who Is."
